Linux and Sound

Posted by kerneljack on August 3, 1999

It’s already the 3rd of August, eh? Actually the 4th just started as I’m typing this at 4:16 in the morning. Nothing much has been happening here. I’ve been trying to get sound to work under linux on my cousin’s computer. I’ve tried recompiling the kernel, and doing all sorts of shit with modules, but the device just keeps telling me that it’s busy doing something else! I’m not going to give up, though.

I’m wondering if Evangelia is back yet from Italy or if Christiana is back from Laos.

I’ve been watching a lot of movies too nowadays, mostly on VideoCD. I just finished watching Armageddon again, and I think it’s really too violent. I hate movies where all they do is shout. I also saw The Matrix and The Mummy a long time ago, and those two are good movies. Darryl was right: Blade is an excellent movie, I should have watched it in Cyprus. I saw Net Force too, based on the novel by Tom Clancy and as they always say: The book was better.

That’s pretty much it. I’m planning on switching my ISPs again as the service in Pakistan has also gone down the drain. You can never connect at the peak hours. Too many people are rushing on to the internet nowadays, and it’s turning into a regular traffic jam
